Let’s be honest, girlies, when you get home from work at 6:45, the last thing you want to do is make a meal from scratch. I know I know, the itch to order takeout ever itches… and sometimes we need to scratch it, sure! But on the whole we deserve better. As a working girl with not a lot of free time, who still cares about nutrition and nourishing my body with food that tastes good and makes me feel good, I wanted to develop a series of slap dash recipes that anyone can put together in under 18 minutes. The best part, they all use the same 18 basic ingredients so no need to buy a whole bunch of expensive, fancy food for every recipe.

Good food is simple. And nutrition shouldn’t have to be an uphill battle. But wait… it gets better. No defrosting! All the proteins are ready to go or cook in under 10 minutes. Gone are the days of giving up because we forgot to take the chicken out of the freezer in the morning. I know we have all been there. (Vegans pay no mind). But more than that. This cookbook or cooklet booklet, as I like to call it, is more than just a collection of recipes. It’s a philosophy, a way of life. One that makes room for softness and grace and comfort. This book is a love letter to every girl I’ve ever been, and every girl I’ll ever be. It’s a love letter to you too. With all the lessons and gifts I’ve learnt along the way, on this journey that I’m still very much on… alongside you. 

And so, with that, I invite you to dive in with me, into the world of hot and sleepy cooking. Where the ramen is good enough and the cheesy pasta is there for you at the end of a long day, coupled with the gentle arms of self compassion and maybe a sweet treat, who knows?
